To check text messages or picture messages dial #3282 send. A text message will be sent to your phone with your text and picture message usage. If a text message does not get to your phone the automated system would have prompted you for a billing zip code which is 43606 for all customers, if you hear the automated prompt stay on the line and the automated system will verbally tell you your usage.

What other charges might appear on my bill? Sending and receiving test messages without a package cost $.10 for each message. It does not matter if you read the message, you are still charged. Sending over your allowance will also generate $.10 per message charges.

Can I web browse?  Launching the web browser on your phone is billed by the kilobyte at $.03 per kilobyte of data. Rocket Telecom cautions users who web browse without an optional vision package because these charges can add up quickly.

Can I download ring tones and games?  Yes, but downloads for ring tones and games will be billed with an additional 10% processing fee for Verizon Customers, using the GET IT NOW feature does use minutes as well. Sprint Customers downloads must be done with a third party provider. You may choose a provider such as www.ringtonejukebox.com, select a ring tone, pay for the selection with your MasterCard or Visa and then follow the instructions to retrieve the ring tone on to your handset. Remember that launching the web browser to retrieve you pre-purchased ring tone or game will generate billable kilobytes of data.

How much does it cost to call Directory Assistance?  Directory Assistance is when you call
4-1-1 or 555-1212, these calls are billed at $1.75 each.

Will I ever be billed for Long Distance and Roaming Charges?  If you call Canada or Puerto Rico from the United States you will be charged the $.59 per minute. If you travel to Canada or Puerto Rico and use the phone to place calls or to receive calls you will be charged $.99 per minute.

Is Insurance Available? Insurance is available for the handsets for a $4 monthly charge. You will be able to replace a damaged or lost phone with the same phone or comparable model for a $50 deductible. You may use the insurance option twice (2 times) during a 12 month calendar period. If there are more than two claims in a 12 month calendar period you will be responsible for the full replacement cost of the phone. Insurance can only be added within 30 days of purchasing a new handset. Attempts to add insurance after 30 days will be denied.

Students living in on campus residence hall must use their personal 9 digit codes to dial toll free numbers.  Rocket Telecom places this security on the lines to protect our customers from being charged for calls placed to toll free numbers that provide services with monthly fees and adult entertainment services.  There is no charge for normal toll free dialing.  However, costs incurred from dialing to services that carry monthly fee or adult entertainment services will be billed to the calling party.

You may make collect calls however you may not accept collect calls.  Rocket Telecom blocks accepting collect calls for our student residents.  This policy protects students from unnecessary fees and expensive charges.

Students who live in the on campus residence halls may connect to the University's network via an Ethernet connection.  This is the suggested method for on campus students connecting to the Internet and the University's extensive network.  There are no additional costs for this service.  Visit http://www.eitoperations.utoledo.edu/HelpDesk/utnet.asp for more information.

For maintenance in the residence halls call Buckeye CableSystem @ 419-724-9800.
