Local Telephone Service

Local Telephone Service Resident Halls:

• Each room is permanently assigned one local telephone number and local calls are free.

• Students should bring their own telephone because Rocket Telecom does not provide telephone sets.

• We cannot guarantee the use of cordless phones in the residence halls due to manufacturer inconsistencies.

• Students need a Rocket Telecom authorization code to dial toll free and long distance calls. Returning Students - Click here to use a form to reactivate your long distance authorization code. If you cannot remember your code or if you are a new student needing a code please bring your Rocket ID to our office.

• There is no additional monthly fee for residence hall dial tone.

Rocket6-Direct - On Campus long distance from residence halls and courtesy phones

• Domestic long distance calls are billed at $0.06 per minute 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

• Each student receives a personal 9-digit authorization code for dialing.  Codes allow individual billing.

• There are no hidden charges, no sales tax, no fee, nothing but the cost of your call.

• Program dialing instructions are provided with each account.

• Students must use their personal 9-digit code to place domestic and international long distance calls as well as toll free calls.  There is no charge for using the code to dial toll free numbers.

• Most international calls are at a flat rate per minute that varies depending on the country called.

• Campus courtesy phones accept the 9-digit code for free local calls and long distance dialing.

• All students may use their personal 9-digit codes from any of the campus courtesy phones located all over main campus.

• All domestic long distance is only $0.06 per minute 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

• Convenient gray phones are located in the hallways of every building on main campus.

• Dialing instructions are the same as in the Residence Halls.

• Use the 9-digit personal code to dial local numbers for free.

Rocket Voice Mail - NOW INCLUDED - on campus only

• Our voice mail system has many features to which regular answering machines cannot compare.

• Takes calls while you are on the telephone and if no one answers the telephone.

• Stutter dial tone notification when you have messages in your mailbox.  Never miss a message.

• Up to 15 messages can be kept in your mailbox for up to ten days.

• Create your customized personal outgoing greeting on your password protected mailbox.
